Add Page Numbers — Top Right

Place page numbers in the top-right corner of every page using the "Page 1" format. This positioning is popular for academic papers, technical manuals, and business documents where the page number should be immediately visible without scrolling to the bottom. The "Page" prefix adds formality and clarity. Top-right numbering follows many style guides including Chicago Manual of Style and is the default position for many publishing standards.

FAQ

Why choose top-right over bottom-center?
Top-right page numbers are immediately visible when you open a page, without scrolling. They follow many academic and publishing conventions. Bottom-center is more common for general documents. The best choice depends on your document type and any applicable style guide requirements.
Will this conflict with existing headers?
If your document already has a header in the top-right area, the page number may overlap with existing content. In that case, choose a different position (top-left, bottom-center, etc.) or reduce the font size. You can also skip specific pages that have conflicting headers.
Can I use a different position?
Yes. After the page loads, click any position on the page mockup grid to change where numbers appear. Six positions are available: top-left, top-center, top-right, bottom-left, bottom-center, and bottom-right. Each can be combined with any numbering format.
