Compress PDF for Email

Optimize your PDF specifically for email attachments. This preset uses medium compression with metadata stripping to create files that fit within typical email attachment limits (10-25MB). Images are balanced at 50% quality and 150 DPI — good enough for on-screen viewing while keeping the file small enough to send reliably through any email provider including Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail, and corporate email systems.

FAQ

What's the maximum email attachment size?
Gmail allows up to 25MB, Outlook allows 20MB, and Yahoo Mail allows 25MB. Corporate email servers often have lower limits, typically 10-15MB. This preset optimizes your PDF to work within all these limits while maintaining acceptable quality.
Why strip metadata for email?
Metadata can include hidden information like author name, editing history, GPS coordinates from scanned documents, and software version. Stripping it reduces file size slightly and protects your privacy when sharing documents via email.
What if my PDF is still too large for email?
For very large or image-heavy PDFs, switch to the 100KB or Maximum Compression preset for more aggressive size reduction. Alternatively, you can split a large PDF into smaller parts using our Split PDF tool and send them as separate attachments.
