Last updated: February 15, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and PDFlys, a company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ("PDFlys," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using pdflys.com (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using PDFlys, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service. We may update these Terms from time to time — see Section 14 for how changes are handled.

2. Description of Service

PDFlys is a free, browser-based PDF editing tool. All file processing occurs locally in your web browser using client-side JavaScript. PDFlys does not upload, store, or transmit your files to any server. The Service is provided "as is" and is available for personal and commercial use.

PDFlys offers tools including: merge PDF, split PDF, compress PDF, PDF to JPG, JPG to PDF, sign PDF, and PDF editing — all free and private.

3. Minimum Age

You must be at least 18 years old to use PDFlys. If you are under 18, you may only use PDFlys with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use PDFlys only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable laws
  • Not use the Service to process files you do not have the right to edit
  • Take responsibility for maintaining your own backups of original files
  • Keep your account credentials secure and not share them with third parties

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use automated scraping, crawling, or data extraction tools on the Service
  • Share your account credentials with third parties
  • Use the Service to create deepfakes, synthetic media intended to deceive, or content that violates any person's rights
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service output to train AI or machine learning models without prior written consent
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or harmful code through the Service
  • Process content that violates the laws or regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service or interfere with other users' access

Violation of these provisions may result in immediate account termination under Section 9.

6. Intellectual Property

The PDFlys name, logo, and website design are the property of PDFlys. The underlying open-source libraries (pdf.js, pdf-lib, Fabric.js, and others) are used under their respective licenses — see our Licenses page for details. Your PDF files and the edits you make remain entirely your property.

7. Account Terms

If you create an account via Google Sign-In, you are responsible for all activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from your Settings page. Accounts inactive for more than 24 consecutive months may be deleted after notice.

Upon account deletion, all associated data (display name, email, preferences, and saved signatures) will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

FOR NON-CONSUMER USERS: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PDFlys is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

FOR CONSUMERS IN SAUDI ARABIA: Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under the Saudi Consumer Protection Law or the E-Commerce Law.

FOR CONSUMERS IN THE EU/EEA/UK: Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Any limitation of liability in these Terms does not apply to damages caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence, or to any rights that cannot be waived under applicable consumer protection laws.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PDFlys shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to data loss or corruption of PDF files.

For users in the European Union: this limitation does not affect any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Where your local consumer protection laws provide greater protection, those laws shall prevail.

For users in Saudi Arabia: this limitation is subject to the provisions of Saudi Arabian law, including applicable consumer protection regulations.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PDFlys, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights; or (d) content you process through the Service.

This indemnification obligation does not apply to the extent prohibited by applicable consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction.

11. Account Termination & Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

  • Violate these Terms of Service
  • Use the Service for illegal purposes or in violation of Saudi law
  • Infringe upon third-party intellectual property rights
  • Engage in abusive behavior toward our team or other users
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the Service
  • Process content that violates the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
  • Maintain an inactive account for more than 24 consecutive months

Except for severe violations (items b, c, d, and f above), we will provide 14 days' notice before termination. Upon termination, we will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You may terminate your account at any time by using the Delete Account feature in your Settings page or by emailing privacy@pdflys.com.

12. Service Modifications

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' prior notice via email (for registered users) or a prominent notice on our website.

This notice requirement does not apply to changes required by law, regulatory order, or to address security vulnerabilities.

13. Force Majeure

PDFlys shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, pandemics, government actions or regulations, internet or infrastructure failures, power outages, or third-party service outages. We will use reasonable efforts to resume performance as soon as practicable.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via email (for registered users) and a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before the changes take effect. For changes that affect your rights under applicable law, we will obtain your explicit consent before applying the new terms.

For non-material changes (e.g., formatting, clarifications), we will update this page with a new "Last Updated" date.

15. Privacy & Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. PDFlys complies with the Saudi Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and applicable international data protection regulations including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

16. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
